Mission and Outreach

Mission is the Church’s response to the command of Jesus “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all creation”. (Mark 16:15) In his teaching, Jesus also exhorted us to ‘love your neighbour as you love yourself’ (Mark 12:31) and illustrating that with his story of the Good Samaritan.

It is the care and compassion of Jesus, his concern for others that prompts us as Christians to be involved in the community and the wider world – whether that means helping at the Day Care Association, encouraging support for Malawi, being involved in uniformed organisations for young people or working for a fairer, more just world through Fairtrade. The Church is supporting a partner church in Malawi, not only raising funds for a piped water project but strengthening the congregation there in their worship and witness and in return, gaining friendship and fellowship and much more besides.

Our Mission is at home, it is overseas – it is wherever we are called to proclaim the gospel. We fulfill our mission not out of duty but out of love – reciprocating the love that Jesus showed to all Mankind.
